The Chinese company OnePlus has been quite the highlight ever since Google has released the Android 7.0 Nougat version, and this happens due to the flow of updates they offered to the OnePlus 3 and 3T devices. At the same time, while they focused on the high-end devices, it seems they left behind the OnePlus 2 and OnePlus X smartphones. Their owners are quite anxious to receive the much anticipated update.
Anticipating the update
The OnePlus 2 and OnePlus X owners have started a new Thunderclap campaign, hoping to make the company listen to them. Ever since June 2016, when the developers declared that they will indeed offer the Nougat update for these two devices at some point, there were no other details revealed about it.
There are already some threads posted on the official forum of the OnePlus company, so it would be a safe bet to say that the developers are aware of this request. However, there is still no official answer for all these questions about the status of the update.
Truth be told, it’s been four months already since the OnePlus 3 and 3T received the Nougat update, and it’s high time for the company to turn to the older phones. Indeed there is a larger tendency to focus on the high end and the most recent devices in order to provide the updates, but objectively speaking, there are more people using older phones than new ones.
All in all, probably the users don’t have to wait much longer until they get the update too, but even so, it is indeed upsetting that the company seemed to forget about them. On the bright side, perhaps they are working on improving the update and making it more suitable for each device, in order to prevent bugs and other errors.
