Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and S6 Edge+ Get New Android 7 Nougat Update

Previously in 2017, the tech giant Samsung has announced that they will be bringing the new update for the Android 7 Nougat, according to a schedule that began on January 17. On April 5, spring rolled out the latest Android version for the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and S6 Edge+ devices, thus being the first career to bring this OS. The new update weighs 1.4 GB and it comes with security fixes to date, including the March security patch.

Recent update

Droid Life reported that for the past couple of days, the 2015 Samsung devices have been receiving the Nougat updates from Sprint. All the recent reports have shown that Spring is the leader among the US carriers when it comes to rolling out the latest update for the Note 5 devices, which can only be good news.

This is the confirmation of the promise Samsung made back in January, that they would bring the latest version of Android to the older phones belonging to the Note 5 and the S6 devices. On this occasion, millions of users of this generation will receive the update notification, giving them the option of installing it overnight.

If you are one of the users, then you should prepare the phone before installing it: plug in the unit and connect it to Wi-Fi while it updates overnight, since it weighs a lot, at 1.4 GB.

Extra updates

Besides the Android 7 Nougat OS, the update also brings the March 2017 security patches for Android, plus the latest available version of the TouchWiz User Interface skin made by Samsung. Even so, we don’t know when other carriers or other phone models will receive the update. You can always check if it is available in the Settings menu of the device.
