Huawei P9 Lite has hit the stores in April 2016, while the Samsung Galaxy J3 2016 has been released a few months earlier, in January 2016. Today we will compare these two smartphones and let you decide which one of them suits your needs better.

Designs

The Huawei P9 Lite measures 146.8×72.6×7.5mm and weights 147 grams. It’s the cheaper version of the P9, but instead of metal, it has plastic on its back, with the same wide strip at the top, which includes the camera. On the other hand, the Samsung Galaxy J3 2016 is thicker and lighter, as it measures 142.3x71x7.9mm and weights 138 grams. It has a removable plastic cover available in colors such as White, Black, and Gold.

Displays

The Huawei P9 Lite comes with an IPS LCD display of 5.2-inch that supports a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels at 424 ppi. The Samsung Galaxy J3 2016 has a smaller super AMOLED display of 5-inch that supports a lower resolution of 1280×720 pixels at 294 ppi.

The Huawei P9 Lite features a HiSilicon Kirin 650 chipset, a quad-core Cortex A53 CPU clocked at 1.7GHz and a quad-core Cortex A53 CPU clocked at 2.0GHz, a Mali-T830MP2 graphics card and 2GB or 3GB of RAM. The Samsung Galaxy J3 2016 comes in two variants, as follows:

  • Processor: quad-core Cortex A7 CPU clocked at 1.5GHz or quad-core Cortex A7 CPU clocked at 1.3GHz;

The Huawei P9 Lite has an internal storage of 16GB while the Samsung Galaxy J3 2016 has been released in two internal storage variants of 8GB and 16GB. However, both devices come with a microSD card slot that allows you to expand the storage up to 256GB using a microSD card.

Cameras

The Huawei P9 Lite sports a primary camera of 13MP that features geo-tagging, touch focus, panorama, HDR, face detection and a secondary camera of 8MP. As expected, the two variants of Samsung Galaxy J3 2016 come with different cameras, as follows:
