More and more companies have started bringing out mid-range smartphones due to an increase in public demand for such devices. The reason behind it most likely is the fact that mid-range smartphones can perform almost as well as expensive ones, and for a fraction of the price. Needless to say many people love this idea.

If you were thinking of acquiring a mid-range device, you might have noticed how the market is overflowing with them nowadays. Many companies, including top-shelf Korean tech giant Samsung, provide affordable and impressive options for such smartphones. However, the main contenders for the battle of the mid-range smartphones are the Moto G5 Plus and the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4. But which one is the best? Where should you invest your money?

Which Mid-Range Smartphone is Best?

As far as design is concerned, both phones are basic, yet sleek and overall aesthetically pleasing. However, the Moto G5 Plus wins in the design department due to its rounded corners and overall elegant appearance. Therefore, if you want a smartphone with the grace of an iPhone for a fraction of the price, the Moto G5 Plus is a safe bet.

However, when it comes to specs, while both phones are basically the same, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 is the slightly better one, and it’s cheaper too. The Xiaomi comes with a larger 5.5-inch screen, compared to the Moto’s 5.2-inch one. On top of that, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 also has a much more potent 4100 mAh battery, as opposed to the Moto G5 Plus’s modest 3000 mAh one. And to top it all off, the Xiaomi also has a slightly better rear camera, but the front one is basically the same as the Moto’s.

Because of the slightly better hardware, we’d have to declare the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 the winner.
